New Zealand Totara Bowl

Carved from New Zealand Totara, a tree considered by Maori as a "chiefly tree" and used in the past to carve their war canoes out of. A single log was used to carve a canoe that could hold one hundred warriors. Totara is still a highly sought after timber today. This bowl has an elegance about it. It is a vessel that would grace the most modern of architectures.
